still waiting for clan system to be revamp or even removed...

1) clan does not have much strategy part. only to get a good clan leader who knows how to make the clan with more troops, and clan mates listen to him on changing jobs... thats the only strategy for clan GOLD.

2) if u dont have a good clan or u dont wan any clan, u will be destroyed. so much gold lost if you dont get the gold from jobs (as a hero, u still need a job...) and later the tons of gold from troops gold... (totally doesnt match with DotA).

so, in short, u get unfair advantage or disadvantage from a system that is... boring and doesnt match with dota theme.
I will say I am wrong if anyone in this round can get top 5 10 without a clan. deal? =)

It will default to longer game duration for less player.

We can start exploring removing gold phase by phase, and having clan just to give attack/defense bonus.

I agree with trying a round with no clan :-)
New players are having hard time having a clan, and with less players now, having a 10 member clan is hard to have, and other clans with less member are really no match for a full team clan..

So is it official that Round 66 will be last round of WebDota?
2ndly, in Clan-less gameplay, AGI class will be able to farm creeps on their own, other classes will have a hard time (because of less turns etc.). That can be game-breaking scenario for other classes.

Im ok with clanless round as clans are less interested with war.
Advantage is we can clearly see now coordinated kills between 2 players who are not in a clan, and they can kill without even chatting at chatbox (high possibility that they are friends or multies)
I just hope this isn't the last round LOD, we all wanna help make this game alive.

All the game needs is more players and I think activity will return if you make rounds a bit shorter and don't take too long to start the next round after rounds are finished. Right now, high level players are having difficulty finding targets to kill due to the lack of players and %DR. If rounds are started quicker players will eventually return and new ones will start. Advertising could also be beneficial. In addition, you can make a script that can auto shuffle if it detects an imbalance between the 2 sides(based on Lane HP %). As Hate said, agility heroes will dominate if it is clan-less because of the creeps.

Not forcing anything, just my thoughts.  :D

I think LOD will make a way for other hero type to kill creeps based on their abilities like being able to cast spell on creeps, etc. Lets just give it a try, and i agree on shortening time gap between rounds so as not to lose new players.

Suggestion: Age of War

Follow Dota 2 Concept - Random players clan war

Each Night 7pm, a player will get an option to choose whether to join the clan war at 8pm.
Each player will assign to a clan, consists of 6 players. Each clan will have 2 ints, 2 agis and 2 strs. It will be random assign based on ranking.

For example:

Clan A:
Rank 3 Agi
Rank 10 Agi
Rank 2 Int
Rank 5 Int
Rank 1 Str
Rank 20 Str

Clan B:
Rank 1 Agi
Rank 15 Agi
Rank 3 Int
Rank 7 Int
Rank 2 Str
Rank 10 STr

1 hour preparation time (8pm) and the war start at 9pm and end at 11pm

In war, each clan will have 50 turns, and each time will kill each other. The winner will award below:
1.  Creeps for 12 hours - Fix turns to kill (Agi 5 turns, Int & Str 3 turns) - 4 creeps
2. Gold - 1 kill for 50 gold
3. Turns - 50 turns


Loser will get:
1.  Creeps for 12 hours (but only limited to 2)
2. Gold - 1 kill for 30 gold
3. Turns - 30 turns

Both clan will dismiss after the war, and need to wait for tomorrow for clan war again.

I think clan war is the most fun part in this game. Without war, everyone just taking care of thier own ranking, but in war, everyone work together to ensure the clan win the games :)

I can understand why LOD has decided to make a final round and end WebDota.

The game itself is not advancing anywhere. Same strategy, same players and same formula to get on top rank. The only element of fun that remained in WebDota (at-least for me) was that every round would bring our old friends together. Apart from that, it's very time consuming, very frustrating because of the way some player(s) abuse the system to get on top rank.

Yes I do understand that some players don't want to let it go and want to play every round. I respect that but this game is quite outdated and honestly, the game-play system is flawed. It can be abused.

Re-making the whole Game can be one solution but it would be very time consuming.

Maybe it's time to move-on.

Common LoD, we all enjoy this game.. It had been 5 years down and it's normal for it to lose momentum when it's back again.. Just needs some time and effort from everyone and this game will return like the old days. After all, I'm pretty sure this game started from zero at one point. Just needs effort and patience from everyone, and ofcourse update it to accommodate it with the new dota.

This could happen.

Many new heroes, items and strategies can be introduced so the game can definitely advance. The only problem is the population and it's expected since the game was offline for a long time. I think if LoD creates more heroes, items, and adds more features to the game (Maybe a "River" lane where you can get runes by chance every cycle), then the game might get more interesting and players might return. Not just that, the game might get big again with time.

Ah no, that's not the only problem. Even with improved heroes, improved strategies, improved items, the flaw still remains (i.e. the one controlling more accounts as MULTIES or as LEGIT family / friends sitting in same room will dominate). That's the formula and it cannot be fixed without "remaking" the whole game from scratch.

That some change is a "BIG" change.

For example, right know this round 65 there are 70+ SC and 70+ ST accounts have been registered. So you ACTUALLY believe this many players are playing WebDota right now? This is the same case every round.

140 Players is quite a good number for any game if it's "Real Player" playing.

How about disabled creeps? I know this will make the gold income a-lot slower. But then again, because of clan-less round, you would not be receiving Job Gold (i.e. 50xLevel gold) and gold from the Clan Army. So you are already having very very very low pace gold income.

But what's the difference between a multi and 'a friend' helping you out in the game? How do you tell the difference? That's the biggest issue ;D

I'm curious to know if the Round is Clan-Less, how to compensate for Gold Income (which is already very slow even with a normal Round).

I would suggest increasing the Gold / Cycle increasing at every level. Currently its 70 x Level gold per cycle. Let it be 120 x Level gold per cycle to compensate for Job Gold / Gold received from Army Exploration and Gold that we receive when clan-mates kill a creep.

I have been saying this from a very long time. One of the "Boring" elements of WebDota is "Waiting for Gold". If the game is fast paced (i.e. 15 Mins per Cycle and / or more gold / turns per cycle), maybe more people will start playing and existing players will start "interacting" more.

Do you think WebDota's chat is the only way of communication? People (friends) are coordinating attacks via Facebook Messenger / Whatsapp / Skype. Do you live in a hole?

Hey crazy guy... 15mins/cycle? let me sleep & have a life/job too :p... I take baths, eat, & get my sh*t together in the 29mins between each round :-o 14mins in between only works for NEETS..
I agree with the gold/cycle though.. 125...the most cheap hero training cost, though this may give agi unfair advantage by training since day 1 instead of saving for items since there will be no gold loss if they die. No items for a while though.
If not 125...maybe 140 gold +70/level increase...just a jump start for gold  ;)

i dont know when did it comes to a norm/routine that the game need clan shuffle. it defeat the purpose of the lane %.

so either we keep the lane % and make it balanced that the game end without any shuffle.

OR, we remove the lane % and set the game to end in X days, and letting shuffles flying around.

OR, we rework the game achievement:
1. make each clan 5 members (fitting dota gameplay)
2. each day, there will be a fixed time for WAR, which is auto selected by the server, say 1500-2300 of each day (8 hours)
3. the server will pick 2 clans that with nearest rating to go into war
4. your normal farming and gameplay still goes as normal
5. in your clan page, there will be a WAR page
6. in that WAR page, it shows your health & mana at WAR, your enemies for you to attack, and your WAR turns
7. when you get into war (say server time 1500), you will be given 30 WAR turns, and you gain WAR turns according to your AGI as usual
8. in short, you have an EVENT sort of gameplay each DAY!
9. each character will be out of WAR (cannot attack in WAR anymore) after getting killed 25 times.
10. the clan that reach 50 kills first win, or by more kills at the end of the WAR (server time 2300).
11. winning clan get increased rating and some gold reward.

this, can remove the clan gold for good. FUN FUN FUN.

Nice idea..
I'd just like to add:
12. Abilty to input preferred war time. Clan Leader inputs start time & the following 16 hours will be the basis of war time. Server will pick Clans within intersecting preferred wartimes with nearest ratings will go to war. (Instead of #3)

Coz if war goes from 11pm-7am & i've got a presentation at the job the next day.. I might break my phone.. or get fired.. or kill a bunny & burn down a bunch of orphanages  :o ::) ::)

Can't image you still aware of new post. I feel so old about this game, still relevant? as Dota 2 is the standard now.
