Quote
Q: What is Web Dota?

A: This is a web game which based on Dota-Allstars. The players are seperated into two sides, namely the Sentinel and the Scourge.

Quote
Q: What is ST and SC?

A: ST stands for Sentinel while SC stands for Scourge.

Quote
Q: How to win this game?

A: There are three lanes in the game, namely the Top, Center and Bottom region. To win the game, you and your allies will have to own two of these three lanes.

Quote
Q: How to own these lanes?

A: Each lane starts with 100% health. When you kill an enemy at a lane, that enemies' lane will drop some health. Once a lane's health is 0%, it is owned.

Quote
Q: Is there anyway to way to heal the lane?

A: Yes. You can heal the lane by healling your allies in that lane. Each 1000 HP healed will increase the lane's health by 0.01%.
(changed?)

Quote
Q: How to move between lanes?

A: In the game, go to "Attack" page, you will have the option to teleport. The cost of teleporting is 50 gold each time.
(still 50 gold?)

Quote
Q: What is turn and how do I get it?

A: In the game, you need to use "turn" to perform your actions. You get turns based on your agility each cycle.

Quote
Q: What is a cycle?

A: A cycle is 30 minutes in the game. This is the time unit of the game. Many things in the game is based on cycle.

Quote
Q: What is the use of turns?

A: You use turns to attack, cast spells and heal.

Quote
Q: What are the meaning of those uniquenesses of the 16 heroes?

A: The uniquenesses' descriptions are as below:

* Pandaren Battlemaster - attacks deal extra 15% damage

* Ogre Magi - the spell casted has 20% chance of dealing double damage

* Troll Warlord - when attacking enemy (does not include neutral creeps), has 50% chance to receive 0 return damage from the enemy

* Anti Mage - burns the enemy's MP equal to 50% of the attacks damage

* Shadow Shaman - spells deal extra 15% damage

* Dwarven Sniper - cost 0 gold to teleport between regions and attacks deals extra 20% damage to neutral creeps

* Centaur Warchief - everytime increases one level will get extra 5 strength

* Tinker - every cycle has 50% chance to have full mana

* Faceless Void - armor can decrease spell damage, but only with 50% of normal effect

* Gorgon - armor works 40% better than other heroes

* Obsidian Destroyer - MP needed to cast spells are reduced by 30%

* Butcher - extra 5 strength given for each 10 killing streaks

* Lich - extra 30% mana regeneration and will go into protection after 15 attacks/spells done on him

* Life Stealer - restores his own HP when he is attacking, the HP restored equal to 50% of the damage he dealed to the enemy

* Night Stalker - in night time, his attacks deal extra 25% damage

* Noble Trader - will has discount when she purchase items (not include potions and training books)
(omg... this one is totally updated!)

Quote
Q: What is return damage?

A: Everytime you attack an enemy, the enemy will fight back and deal some damage back to you. This is called return damage. The return damage is 50% of the enemy's normal damage.

Quote
Q: Can return damage kill me?

A: Yes, return damage will still kill you. If you are killed by return damage, you will lost 90% of your gold. (No matter that is return damage from enemy hero or from neutral creeps)

Quote
Q: What is protection?

A: A hero will be limited to be damaged 20 times per cycle. Once 20 times of damage is done to the the hero, that hero will automatically go into protection. The hero that goes into protection will be invisible in the list, so enemies cannot do any harm to him. (Notes: Lich has uniqueness about protection. Lich can only be damaged 15 times per cycle, then he will be sent into protection.)
(still same?)

Quote
Q: When is day time and night time?

A: Day time = 6:00AM to 6:00PM of the game time. Night time = 6.00PM to 6:00AM of the game time.

Quote
Q: What are stats?

A: Stats mean the Strength (STR), Agility (AGI) and Intelligence (INT) of the heroes.

Quote
Q: What does the stats provide?

A: The bonus that stats give to heroes are as below:

* one STR = increases 70 HP

* one STR = increases 1 damage (increases 2.0 damage for STR heroes, instead of 1 damage)

* one AGI = increases 1 armor

* 40 AGI = increases 1 turn (AGI heroes only require 30 AGI, instead of 40)

* one INT = increases 70 MP

* INT = increases spell chance of success and spell damage
(help me check is there anything wrong here)

Quote
Q: How to get the stats?

A: There are 3 ways to get stats:

* each increase of level will add one STR, one AGI, one INT and one additional stat to the hero's primary stat (STR if STR hero, AGI if AGI hero, INT if INT hero)

* purchase items which give stats bonus in "Item" page

* do training to get bonus stats

Quote
Q: How to increase level?

A: You will up level if your experience reach the required experience to advance to next level.

Quote
Q: How to get experience?

A: There are several ways to get experience:

* Attack enemies to get small portion of experience

* Cast spell on enemies to get medium portion of experience

* Kill enemy to get large portion of experience

* Heal allies to get very minor experience

* Kill neutral creeps to get medium portion of experience
(need check on this too)

Quote
Q: Is there any special thing about experience that I need to beware of?

A: Yes. In the game, attacking enemies who have higher level than you will get more experience, while attacking enemies with lower level than you will give you less experience.

Quote
Q: Why I cant see some heroes that my allies tell me about?

A: There are several possibilities:

* The enemies had gone into protection

* The enemies had changed their region

* The enemies has level gap with you

Quote
Q: What is level gap?

A: Level gap means that a hero has 2 level higher than you, or 2 level lower than you. So you cannot see them in the list to attack or heal. This is to protect lower level heroes from being bullied by those who has higher level.

Quote
Q: You mean even allies have level gap limitation?

A: Yes. You cannot heal those allies that has level gap with you.

Quote
Q: How to buy items?

A: As long as you have enough amount of gold, you can buy the item that you want in "Item" page. For more information about item, please refer to this link

Quote
Q: What are the use of extra slots?

A: They are just for you to store some items, and also helps you to build recipe items. The items in these 2 extra slots has no effect on your hero.

Quote
Q: Does the recipe need slot?

A: No, you dont need a slot for recipe. But please notice that you cannot buy recipe unless you already have the ingredients of that recipe. For example, to make Divine Rapier, you need Claymore, Demon Edge and Sacred Relic, you must have these 3 items before you can buy the recipe to build Divine Rapier.

Quote
Q: Why I cannot find some of the items that are required to make the recipe item?

A: The items are seperated into 4 region. You will need to teleport to other regions to buy the items. Please refer to this link

Quote
Q: What is Holy Light?

A: this is the unique heal skill of INT heroes. Holy Light cost 300 mana and 0 turn. This make INT heroes good healers.
(still same?)

Quote
Q: I am an INT hero and I have more than 300 mana, but why I cannot heal my allies with Holy Light?

A: Holy Light does not consume turns, but it require the caster to has at least 1 turn remained.
(still same?)

Quote
Q: What is Auto Heal?

A: If you activate it (by ticking the box and press update button), then your hero will auto heal himself in the next cycle if his HP is not full in this cycle. He will use one turn to do it, but the heal effect is 3 times stronger than normal healing.

Quote
Q: What is Mana Shield?

A: This is an unique skill of INT heroes. After activating it (by ticking the box and press update button), the damage from attacks (not including spell damage) will be received by your hero's MP. Each damage will burn away 5 MP from you, while the enemy's attack will not affect your HP.

Quote
Q: Is there anything more about Mana Shield?

A: The Mana Shield will not be functioning when your mana cannot handle the enemy's attack damage. Example, your MP remained is 300 (can receive up to 60 damage), while enemy's attack damage is 100, your Mana Shield will not absorb any damage for you. So you lost 0 mana and 100 HP.

Quote
Q: Is there any good way to counter Mana Shield?

A: Yes, there are several ways:

* Use Mana Burn in "Spell" page to burn away the enemy's mana

* Use spell to damage the enemy since Mana Shield has no effect against spells

* Use consecutive attacks to deal damage which Mana Shield cannot afford to absorb. Example, your INT enemy has 5000 MP (which can absorb up to 1000 damage), you use consecutive attacks to deal damage which is more than 1000. Then the enemy will receive the damage you dealt, his Mana Shield will not help him at all.

Quote
Q: What is consecutive attacks?

A: Please refers to the explanation done by Anakin in his post below.

Quote
Q: How to attack neutral creeps?

A: You need to be at least level 2 to attack creeps. You will not see any creep when you are level 1. The creeps only appear in top and bottom region. You will need to teleport to either one of these 2 lanes to attack the creeps.

Quote
Q: Is there anything that I need to beware of about neutral creeps?

A: Yes, there are several things that you need to beware of:

* The creeps have 25% HP regeneration every cycle. Make sure you kill the creeps before next cycle or else you will need to hit few more times

* The creeps are opened to all players, meaning everyone share the same creeps to attack. So make sure you kill the creep fast, before some other players kill steal it!

* The creeps has long HP, so make sure you have enough damage and enough turns. Or else you will just waste your turns.

* The creeps has 0 armor.

* Your attacks are very stable, have no critical effect (even if you have Crystalise or Burize) and have no stun effect on creeps.

* The creeps will deal return damage to you when you attack them. Their return damage will ignore your armor, which mean you will receive the same damage no matter you have high or low armor.

* The creeps give a good and fixed amount of gold when you kill it. Killing them are better than killing heroes.

* You can only kill 5 creeps max per day.

Quote
Q: Can you please tell me the information about the neutral creeps?

A: Here are the information about the creeps:

* Kobold Taskmaster [L2] [Top] - 3000 hp - 1000 gold
* Forest Troll Berserker [L2] [Top] - 3500 hp - 1480 gold

Quote
Q: What is Gold Sharing in the "Attack" page?

A: If you activate Gold Sharing (by ticking the box and press the update button), you will only receive 50% gold when you kill neutral creep. The other 50% will be equally distribute to your clan mates.
(still same?)

Quote
Q: How to do training?

A: Firstly, you buy them in "Item" page. Then you train them in "Train" page.

Quote
Q: How many type of training is there?

A: There are 6 types of training in the game:

* Hero Training - you do not need to purchase the training book for this. This training option is given to you automatically and free. After completing this training, your hero will get 2 STR, 2 AGI and 2 INT bonus.

* Beast Training - you will need to buy this training book at bottom region. After completing this training, your hero will get 10 STR bonus.

* Chain Helmet Training - you will need to buy this training book at bottom region. After completing this training, your hero will get 70 armor bonus.
(still total same?)

Quote
Q: How to use the training books after purchase them?

A: After you buy the training books, they will appear in "Train" page. You may maximum have 5 training at a time, including the Hero Training. Which mean you may only buy 4 training books to train at a time. You may buy again after the training is complete. To train your hero with those books, you need to allocate gold into the training.

Quote
Q: How to allocate gold into the training?

A: In "Train" page, beside each training option, there is a box where you can decide how much gold you want to allocate for the training. Key in the amount and press allocate button. Please be aware that you can only max train 5% per cycle for each training:

* Hero Training - this training requires 50 gold for 1%, so you may max set 250 gold for this.

* Beast/Dark Talisman/Ice Mantle Training - these trainings require 20 gold for 1%, so you may max set 100 gold for these.

* Book of Wisdom Training - this training requires 120 gold for 1%, so you may max set 600 gold for this.

* Chain Helmet Training - this training requires 10 gold for 1%, so you may max set 50 gold for this.

Quote
Q: Can I train 4 same kinds of training at a same time?

A: Yes, you can. You can choose whatever training you want, there is no limitation on this.

Quote
Q: Can I train a same training even after it is completed?

A: Yes, you can. You can repeat the same training you want endlessly, there is no limitation on this. But you need to purchase the training book again, except for Hero Training.

Quote
Q: Why do I need to purchase the books again?

A: It is because the training option will be gone after it is completed.

Quote
Q: How to earn gold?

A: There are several ways to earn gold:

* Kill enemy hero

* Kill neutral creep

* Wait gold regeneration every cycle

* Join a clan and assign yourself to a job

Quote
Q: What is gold regeneration?

A: Every cycle, you will get some gold regeneration, based on the gold you are having and your level.

Quote
Q: How to count gold regeneration?

A: The calculations are like below:

* For level 1 and 2 = Your gold * 7%

* For level 3 and 4 = Your gold * 5%

* For level 5 and above = Your gold * 5%
(changed?)

Quote
Q: Is there any limitation to gold regeneration?

A: Yes there is a limitation for gold regeneration. You will not get gold from gold regen whe your gold has reached the limitation. The limitaion equal to your level * 2000. Example, if you are level 1, your gold limitation is 2000. If you are level 4, yor gold limitation is 8000.

Quote
Q: How to get gold from job?

A: You will be paid wages (gold) every "clan cycle" if you take job in clan.

Quote
Q: How much gold I get from job?

A: The calculation of wages from job equal to your level * 50. Example, if you are level 3, your job wages is 150 gold per clan cycle.
(changed?)

Quote
Q: Is there a limitation for this wages?

A: Yes, same like gold regeneration, job wages is also bound to the limitation of "your level * 2000"

Quote
Q: What is clan cycle?

A: Clan cycle is different from normal cycle. Clan cycle is one hour. Normal cycle starts at xx:00 and xx:30 of every hour. Clan cycle starts at xx:40 of every hour. Which mean, you get your job wages every hour's 40th minute in game.

Quote
Q: How to join clan?

A: In the game, go to "Tavern" page, click "Join Clan", then key in the name and password of the clan. You may also create your own clan. Creating clan has no requirement. You may create a clan even at level 1 and it is absolutely free.

Quote
Q: How to assign myself to job?

A: In the clan page, go to "Stat" page, choose the job you want and click assign.

Quote
Q: How to leave the clan page and go back to normal game page?

A: In the clan page, go to "Main" page, click the icon "WAR".

Quote
Q: How to leave the clan?

A: In the clan page, go to "Setting" page, click "LEAVE CLAN".

Quote
Q: I need more knowledge about clan jobs and buildings...

A: For more detailed information about the jobs and buildings, please refer this link.

Q: What is the difference between neutral creep and clan creep?

A:
Neutral creep can be found in top and bottm lanes only. But to access them, you'll need to be lvl 2.
You'll notice in ur attack list, there is a name with no # and level. that is the neutral creep.
The last creep you'll be seeing in higher lvl would be roshan.

Clan creep is based on ur clan's army. U need to have gold, barrack, and farm as pre-req of it. Then, u'll need a farmer to supply food for ur armies(u'll need trainer 2 train them).
For further clan related jobs n guide : http://forum.dotahomer.com/index.php?topic=364.0

Quote
Q: What items will drop upon death in webdota(physically and magically killed)?

A:
-->Divine Rapier
<obtained from buying 1 Demon Edge(1800gold) and 1 Sacred Relic(3300gold) [both in center lane], 1 Claymore(900gold) [bottom lane] and Divine Rapier Recipe(2000gold) [top lane]>

&

-->Sange & Yasha
<obtained from combining both Sange and Yasha with Sange & Yasha Recipe(1000gold)
>
<Sange = Ogre Axe(5000gold) [top lane] , Belt of Giant Strength(2700gold) and Sange Recipe(1300gold) [both at bottom lane]>
<Yasha = Blade of Alacrity(5000gold) [top lane] , Boots of Elvenskin(2700gold) and Yasha Recipe(1300gold) [both at bottom lane}>

Quote
Q: How to earn gold from clan creeping?

A:
--> in clan there is a situation when ur clan army gets into 20armies, they would randomly find "creeps" to be killed.
--> this is done by having at least 1 barrack and 1 farmer completed, then 1 of ur clanmate is assigned as farmer and another as trainer.
--> the gold turnout is in 1hours at 0.40of the hour. it is based on randomness(some of ur clanmates may not get the extra gold in that hour.
--> the gold turn out is based on (3 - 3.5) * number of armies

lol.. Consecutive attacks mean the combined turns that you use for a certain hero. It combines the total points dealt to that player/creep based on the number of turns you use all in one massive attack. Consecutive attacks are limited upto 20 turns only(15 turns when attacking Lich). Consecutive heals, on the other hand, are unlimited. You cannot attack/heal if your remaining turn is less than the number of the consecutive attack you make.

Advantages of consecutive attack:
1) Mana shield may be disabled if the total damage you deal is more than the enemy's MP/5.

2) Consecutive attacks are dealt in one blow therefore reducing the time of the enemy to counter or react to the attack you made.

3) Consecutive attacks are very useful and effective when you chance a critical damage since the critical damage will be multiplied to the total turns you used in that particular consecutive attack. im not really sure but this concept is the same in the case of enrage and other spells that can buff your damage

Disadvantages of consecutive attack:
1) Be careful when attacking an opponent or creep since consecutive attacks not only combines your turns in one attack, but it also combines the total return damage that the opponent or creep deals to your hero.

2) When using consecutive attack on an opponent during his evasion chance, the total turns will consider all the turns in that blow as 1 point damage, there for if you attack an opponent for 10 turns and he evades it, the total damage dealt would be 10 damage. the opponent's return damage will still be his normal return damage.

3) You must fairly know how to estimate the total damage that you must deal if you want to pawn the opponent once only. if the number of turns you put in your consecutive attack is more than the total turns you need to pawn the hero, then you will waste the extra turns you made in that consecutive attack. Example, an enemy can be pawned in 10 turns, but you used 20 consecutive attacks on him, then the opponent will die and will be left with a full hp. The extra 10 turns you made will just be wasted.

* there! hope this helps saint! Smiley hehe.. add more info that i forgot to mention... Smiley

some latest update, taken from the topic Question & Clarification...

Quote
Q: What is "stun"?

A: This is a special effect which will trigger by Sange & Yasha and Basher. If you have either of these items, you will have 10% chance to "stun" your target when you use "attack" (will not trigger by spell). The effect of "stun" is the target will lost 1 turn for that cycle. The stun will not stack, which means a target will maximum lost 1 turn for that cycle even if he is stunned more than once.

Quote
Q: What is ST, SC, BKB and many more?

A: They are the short form of names in Web Dota. The list of the short form is here:

* ST = Sentinel
* SC = Scourge
* BKB = Black King Bar (item)
* BoW = Book of Wisdom (item)
* SnY = Sange and Yasha (item)
* WS = Witching Stave (item)
* HoT = Heart of Tarrasque (item)
* GB = Greater Bash (spell)
* BS = Battle Shout (spell)
* STR = Strength
* AGI = Agility
* INT = Intelligence
* AM = Anti Mage (hero)
* CW = Centaur Warchief (hero)
* NS = Night Stalker (hero)
* SF = Shadow Fiend (hero)
* FV = Faceless Void (hero)
* SS = Shadow Shaman (hero)

Quote
Q: Does Spell Resistance from Aegis of Immortal and Planeswalkers Cloak has effect against all type of spell?

A: Nope. Some spells cannot be reduced by Spell Resistance. The list of spells that cannot be reduced is as below:

* Gold Hunger
* Mana Burn
* Terror
* Sunder

Quote
Q: Does Black King Bar has 30% to block all type of spell?

A: Nope, there are some spells that BKB cannot block. The spells that cannot be blocked by BKB are listed below:

* Gold Hunger
* Mana Burn
* Terror
* Sunder

Quote
Q: Wow, someone has dropped a Divine Rapier / Sange and Yasha! How can I pick it up?

A: Sorry, the item that is dropped will be gone forever. No one can pick it up.

Quote
Q: Do all items with % of triggering (like aegis, BKB, etc) will stack?

A: Nope, some will and some wont. Here is the list:

* Aegis = not stackable, maximum 30% chance to revive
* BKB = not stackable, maximum 30% chance to block spell
* HoT = not stackable, maximum 30% chance to block Sunder
* Burize = stackable
* Basher = stackable
* Butterfly = stackable
* SnY = stackable
* Basher = stackable

Quote
Q: I dont even understand what is "stack".

A: "Stack" means the % will add up, but the effect is still the same. Meaning that getting 2 same items that got trigger effect, giving you a higher chance to trigger the effect. For example, if you get 2 Burize, you will have more than 30% chance to deal double damage. But please notice that 2 Burize will not give you 60% chance to deal double damage. That gives you around 50% chance to trigger the double damage effect.

Can you include how armor works over here? And how magic reduction stacks.

Magic resistance flow

1. Spell resistance item
2. If Faceless Void or Anti-Mage:
damage = damage x (1 - hero spell resistance %)
3. If Agility hero (20% less)
damage = damage x (1 - 0.2)
4. If Intelligence hero (50% less)
damage = damage x (1 - 0.5)
5. If War, extra 20% spell resistance
damage = damage x (1 - 0.2)

Magic resistant for FV(faceless void) : (Armor * 10 / Max HP) X 100% ==> max 45% only

Dmg reduction for agi : (Armor * 10 / Max HP) X 100% ==> max 75% only
Dmg reduction for int : (Armor * 7 / Max HP) X 100% ==> max 65% only

And for STR, it is just Damage-Armor=Final Damage is it?

So, for Faceless Void  with hmm, 60% physical Damage reduction, 1 Aegis, and 1 Hood Of Defiance, his magic resist would be:

(100-40%) (HOD) x (100-45%) (FV) x (100-20%)(AGI) = 26.4% damage taken aka 73.6% magic resist?

Does Aegis resist stack with HOD?

Also, how about armor for Gorgon? does she ADD 20/40/60% aka 20%+40%=60% DR? Or is it like (100+40%) x (20%) = 28% DR?

Also, does Gorgon have the same 75% cap? or is her cap increased also because of her uniqueness?

And for STR, it is just Damage-Armor=Final Damage is it?

A: yeap...direct reduction based on amount of armor

So, for Faceless Void  with hmm, 60% physical Damage reduction, 1 Aegis, and 1 Hood Of Defiance, his magic resist would be:

(100-40%) (HOD) x (100-45%) (FV) x (100-20%)(AGI) = 26.4% damage taken aka 73.6% magic resist?

A:hood 40%,aegis works 18% of 18% reduction = 3% =43% resist from item
fv get 45% coz 60% (dr), another 20% from hero type,
Total resistant = 74% resistant.

Does Aegis resist stack with HOD?

A:Aegis works only as 18% of its 18% magic resistant.
same goes for 2nd hood as it works only as 40% of its 40% reduction = 16%

Also, how about armor for Gorgon? does she ADD 20/40/60% aka 20%+40%=60% DR? Or is it like (100+40%) x (20%) = 28% DR?

A:Gorgon Medusa - armors will have 20%/40%/60% more before converted into percent
so, u'll multiply ur armor by 1.2/1.4/1.6 before using it in the dmg reduction formula.
Edit:4get abt changes on gorgon to have 60% more

Also, does Gorgon have the same 75% cap? or is her cap increased also because of her uniqueness?

A: same 75% cap, she only needs less armor than other agi heroes, saving her some gold for buying armor trainin.

Edit : in order to not spam this thread...i edited the post.

Example (a)

damage = 1,000

(1st Hood) damage = damage x (1 - 0.4) = 600 dmg
1000 x 0.6 = 600 dmg

(2nd Hood) hood now works 40% out of 40% spell resistance = 16%
damage = damage x (1 - 0.16)
600 x 0.84 = 504

(3rd Hood) hood now works 40% out of 40% spell resistance = 16%
damage = damage x (1 - 0.16)
504 x 0.84 = 423

Example (b)

damage = 1,000

(1st Aegis) damage = damage x (1 - 0.18) = 820 dmg
1000 x 0.82 = 820 dmg

(2nd Aegis) aegis now works 18% out of 18% spell resistance = 3.24% (round to 3%)
damage = damage x (1 - 0.03)
820 x 0.97 = 795.4 (round to 795)

Example (c)

damage = 1,000

(1st Hood) damage = damage x (1 - 0.4) = 600 dmg
1000 x 0..6 = 600 dmg

(2nd Aegis) aegis now works 18% out of 18% spell resistance = 3.24% (round to 3%)
damage = damage x (1 - 0.03)
600 x 0.97 = 582

** 1st Aegis and 2nd Hood works the same here

Magic resistance flow

1. Spell resistance item
2. If Faceless Void or Anti-Mage:
damage = damage x (1 - hero spell resistance %)
3. If Agility hero (20% less)
damage = damage x (1 - 0.2)
4. If Intelligence hero (50% less)
damage = damage x (1 - 0.5)
5. If War, extra 20% spell resistance
damage = damage x (1 - 0.2)

No wait I totally don't understand how the item magic resist stacks. Just talk about item magic resist:
Show me:
HOD+Aegis= 43% you say?
Aegis+HOD=43% too?
HOD+HOD+Aegis
HOD+Aeigs+Aeigs
2HOD, 2 AEGIS.
How about 3 HOD? Does that mean 40% + (40% x 40%) + (40% x 40% x 40%) ?

Sry for modifying, but can someone confirm that Butterfly stacks? Does it follow formula:

1 - ((1-03)x(1-0.3)) = 51%  dodge?
